The Eerie, Indiana Reunion: Part II

So to continue the story of the Eerie, Indiana Reunion in Philadelphia this weekend...


There was a meet and greet session after the Q&A, which I fully expected to be a line for autographs, but turned out to be them circling the crowd and talking to people and also signing things if requested.

Jason "Dash X" Marsden and Justin "Simon Holmes" Shenkarow

So, yeah, that was kind of a blur.

Some things I remember:

-We should write to Lion's Gate if we want to see the revival mentioned in the previous post happen. Yes, I had to verify who to write on Twitter earlier today because I couldn't remember. Karl Schaefer (original creator) would be involved, despite that whole zombie show he's got going on already.

-Apparently, I am much more comfortable around people I've just met when they've played Simon Holmes on TV.

-They signed the scripts! Justin signed one and Jason signed both. Also got posters and the pin that Jason's fingerprints have been all over.

-Jason verbally noticed I was shaking at one point, which was probably the combination of holding the phone up for over an hour to Periscope the thing and also because there is a part of me that is still a kid watching the series finale for the very first time and is SO VERY NOT OKAY HAVING THE SCRIPTS, ESPECIALLY THE "REALITY TAKES A HOLIDAY" SCRIPT IN MY HOUSE. LET ALONE TRAVELING AROUND WITH IT. OR HANDING IT TO DASH X! I MEAN, SERIOUSLY, WTF WAS I THINKING?!

-He has all his Eerie scripts, too! (I do think I remember him posting a couple with doodles at one point.)

-I met other fans! In person! Who love the show, too, and have theories and everything. Which was maybe the best part. :D

I hope it wasn't on the World o Stuffs set - NBC would not have been pleased. Or maybe they would have, since they spent so much money in it they want everyone to get maximum use out of it.

That set was where my mind immediately went, too! Which has now ruined all World o' Stuff scenes forever. Forever!

OTOH, props to the set builders for such a solidly built lunch counter... I hope they wiped it off before John Astin had to film any scenes there tho

Will never be able to watch a World O’ Stuff scene again. Ever.

I’m going to assume it was not in costume, as people were very concerned that he not mess up that $4k wig, and dang it, Jason Marsden, this is exactly why I can’t know these things!

...you know how in some scenes Dashs hair is pretty neat and in others it's all over the place? Yeah.

And now I can longer watch any episode with Dash in it the same way again.

The bad thing is, I keep trying to write fic, and not being able to do it because it's weird now.

And not weird in a good, helpful way.

I think I just have to spend some time rebuilding the fourth wall in my head

Like, oddly specific mental blocks designed to keep out just that image.

The actors are kind, lovely, wonderful people who it was a joy to meet...and who I almost have to forget exist in this reality in order to be able to write any fic again. Or in one specific case, to view the last six episodes of the show in quite the same way again. (Dang it, Marsden!)

I wasn't even there and I'm going to laugh every time I see Dash hanging (and banging?) at the World o Stuff

The episode where he steals a bunch of random stuff and never explains what it's for is never gonna be watchable again.

On my god WHAT DOES HE NEED THE MANNEQUIN HAND FOR?!
