A team of engineers in Japan 🇯🇵 has created a unique type of robot 🤖. The snake-like invention can keep humans out of harm’s way by inspecting (and potentially repairing) tight or dangerous ☠ spaces.

The engineers spent considerable time ⌚ studying the movements of real-life snakes 🐍, using their observations to build the robot. Its reptilian actions allow it to climb up ⏫ and through pipes as well as twisty areas. It is fitted with a camera 📷 and a number of sensors and is even capable of carrying 💁 a small load. Although it is still being worked on, the Japanese team believe that it will soon be water- 🌊 and dust-resistant and could eventually be used to inspect nuclear ☢ disaster areas.
