Eerie Indiana headcanon #5: that weird brainwashing mind-control spell Tripp puts on the Tellers is something all ghosts in Eerie can do, and it's not limited to wrangling an invitation to dinner and a bed for the night. Lucky for Mars, Tripp's intentions were essentially benign, despite his use of stromg-arm tactics. A more malevolent spirit could have done a lot worse.

(the reason Grungy Bill doesn't use this power to aid his bank robbing scheme is that Grungy Bill is as rubbish at being a ghost as he was at being a bank robber. In case you were wondering.)
