Along with such titles as Valiant’s “Faith” or Image’s “Saga,” once such comic series is BOOM! Studio’s “Lumberjanes” which follows a group of girls at a summer camp who encounter strange creatures and supernatural phenomena. The story, created by Noelle Stevenson, Shannon Watters and Grace Ellis, was such a critical and financial hit that the originally planned limited series was quickly made into an ongoing series.
