There’s somewhat of a similar theme to Foreverware here - both are about adult authority figures trying to force kids to conform to their own ideals. This time it’s at school instead of at home - new school nurse Nurse Nancy is brainwashing kids to be studious and dull under the guise of eye exams. Nancy is probably the first antagonist in this show to actually sort of creep me out as an adult - she’s just so cheerily fascist, plus the whole plot is sort of Disturbing Behavior except several years earlier and for a different audience.

That said, they do a good job of offsetting the potential spookiness with the show’s normal oddball humor (and do so without making things become too trivial). I love that the main tool in fighting Nurse Nancy’s brainwashing is a pair of Groucho glasses, as well as the fact that there’s such a huge, dramatic buildup to them. I’m not sure if there was some copyright concern or if they just wanted to keep it as in-joke for adults, but the g-word is never actually mentioned - they’re referred to as “GM 2020s” and said to be a mold from “the face of the master himself”.
