Better Weird than Dead: An Eerie, Indiana Fic Fest

What it is: A fest of Eerie Fic! Including Eerie, Indiana and Eerie, Indiana: The Other Dimension. Just comment with your prompts and write for any prompt that speaks to you. That easy!

Rules:

1) Only one prompt per comment, please, but feel free to comment as many times as you want
2) Prompts can be anything. Song lines, words, ideas, pictures; anything goes. Just no NSFW pics
2) Prompts can be filled an unlimited number of times
3) All ratings and genres allowed
4) Rate all stories in the subject line of the comment (i.e., Title of Story, Rating)
6) All pairings and gen fic allowed.
7) Have fun. No, really, it's a rule. It's required. If you aren't having fun the Garbage men will come for you.

Apocalypse

The Pale Horse; T for...apocalypse?

The Unkind Ones were the only ones on the roads these days, patrolling Eerie, making sure no one was in danger from whatever was coming - was already here. A lot of people were sick, crime rates were skyrocketing, and crops were failing, but no one had died yet.

And if the Unkind Ones had anything to say about it, no one would.

It happened on main street, the inevitable confrontation. The Unkind Ones faced three new bikers - their bikes were white, red, and black. They revved their engines, they shouted taunts, but they did not advance. And the Unkind Ones only waited.

A louder bike echoed from somewhere beyond the other three, approaching quickly. The three parted, and a black clad rider on a pale green bike barreled through, heading straight for the Unkind Ones.

But this was what they had been preparing for, this was what they had been waiting for, and they revved their own engines and met Death head on.

I love this SO MUCH, I totally headcanon the unkind ones as the unsung protectors of Eerie, and their bad rep is just spin from the powers that be who don't take kindly to having their plans meddled with.

This is so totally my headcanon for the Unkind Ones now. Especially given the book I just finished re-reading.

Yep. It was my last bit of non-required reading for the summer. Some day, I will re-read all of Pratchett, but that's going to have to wait for after I finish grad school.
