That's the same thing with the Team Instinct clothes! Your default choices are giant bee or wearing someone else's colors.

At least I know I'm not alone. I was in a raid group the other day where all of us were talking about how much we spent on customizing our avatars' wardrobes. Including the guy who really wants to wear the pink and red and yellow pants, but not quite enough to play as the "girl" style avatar, which is the only menu on which they're available. Whereas I body swap all the time in this stupid game making clothes buying extra expensive, but refuse to run around in anything but black pants, even in pixelated form.
