hey guys, so I made this moodboard tonight for my new favourite oc (sorry ines lmao) and I figured I'd just put out the call that if any of you lovely people have OCs that you'd like a moodboard for (or would just like to talk about Eerie OCs in general), feel free to hit me up over there or over here and I'd be happy to make you one <3

1) okay heres what I got: A loner artist, Winsome almost always fond herself at odds with her brother, who took on politics as his whole life. For pretty much as long as anyone can remember, she has lived alone in a mansion in the affluent suburbs. She lives and dies by her vintage aesthetic and seems to live on a diet consisting of cherries, strawberries and prawn cocktails. Even with her reclusive nature, Winsome does frequent uptown department stores for clothes no one has ever seen her wear. She met Marylin Teller by accident at a political fundraiser she organised for Mayor Chisel (in repayment for Marshall publicly accusing him of being an eldritch abomination) and fell in love. After Marylin briefly mentioned money woes, Winsome made it her personal mission to commission as many galas and parties as she could without looking suspicious. Guests to said parties have noted Winsome herself only appears if Marylin is there, and otherwise locks herself away in her studio. Winsome also purchases cursed jewellery to pass along to Marshall, and maybe stay for a cup of tea and a chat with Marylin. She’d find a less sneaky way to do it, but is hindered by her extreme shyness and lack of social skills. Her favourite colour is pink and she frequently donates to causes that catch her eye. Where exactly she gets her money from is unknown.

Okay I am 100% on board with Winsome pining quietly for Marilyn Teller, in polka dots and t-strap shoes and a victory rolls hairdo. Also because we need so much more of Marilyn's party planning business.

Also, lol I love the idea of Mars making such a damaging and public accusation that it required a fundraiser to smooth it over.

Its so wild that they mentioned it as part of the reason they came to Eerie and then never again. Also kind of a bummer we never got to see Eerie Mall, haha!

Marshall channels his inner Mitchell and straight up slanders someone to their face because of course he does. Anyway its not like mayor chisel is doing himself any favours.

I would have.loved to see all the really blatant end of the world cult orgies Marilyn caters and remains thoroughly oblivious to. Or she knows what they are but ignores it as quite clearly the world didn t end at the last five she organised.

Oh, that's awesome and I'm intrigued!

Going back through my Eerie fic, I'm realizing I don't have all that many OCs, and some of them--like Mr. Serling from Eerie Video--don't exactly count. I'm not sure if any have been developed enough for a whole moodboard yet (though if you're inspired by one, that'd be awesome), so I'll just talk instead:

What inspires your OCs and how do you develop them? How do you come up with their names? That last is sometimes the hardest part for me; I remember getting really mad at a certain character in one of my stories when I realized she had multiple aliases and I was going to have to put at least a few of them on the page.

Well for Ines, I was inspired by someone else talking about next gen stuff and i went 'huh, i could do that' and then I did. I probably put her out into the world a bit early though, I think she's only just starting to come together in the last few months heheh. Mostly I tried to develop her by working in what I considered reasonable for an Eerie revival. No guarantees on Omri Katz and Nikki Cox returning so her parents had to be absent and I love Marylin anyway. Then lots of writing in my head about different aspects of her personality . For Winsome, I saw a picture of Lana Del Rey and went 'that could b a character in Eerie' to Wart and it snowballed from there.

Well in the case of Winsome is was easy, it's the female form of Winston. I often pick names with meanings out of a baby name book i brought for $2 in abt 2010 lmao. The other name I was considering for Ines was Ingrid which means daughter of a hero (coughmarshallcough) but I just happened to see Ines on the same page (its the spanish form of Agnes) and changed it at the last second haha.

Serling doesn't get a moodboard because he's a jerk. Eerie Video could get one, tho - can places have moodboards? I think it's moodboardable.
