I'm coming to Indianapolis in the summer (I'm from the UK), and I like to try and gain a real appreciation and understanding of a place before I arrive to try and enrichen my experience a bit. What music/books/films do you personally think really capture the authentic feel of life and the history of Indianapolis? (For example, when people have expressed an interest in my own city of Glasgow, I've introduced them to, for example, the movie Neds, the TV show Still Game, the comedian Billy Connolly, and the artists The Glasgow Boys/Girls). I've been listening to Wes Montogmery and am of course familiar with Vonnegurt. I'm also particularly interested in the mythologies of the city, and the more esoteric sites. I watched Eerie, Indiana as a kid, but I don't think that counts! I appreciate any and all insights!
