Halloween: Lights, camera, action! Danielle Harris to direct another film
Danielle Harris was part of the Halloween reunion panel last weekend at Monster-Mania in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The actress announced that she was ready to step into the director’s chair again.
Danielle Harris is a fan favorite. A popular guest at conventions, she is guaranteed to pull in the crowds. Last weekend, she was part of the Halloween reunion panel at Monster-Mania with Nick Castle, James Jude Courtney and Sandy Harris.
Known for playing Jamie Lloyd, she has also been featured in Rob Zombie’s interpretation of John Carpenter’s Halloween saga as Annie Brackett. Harris is well-known in the horror genre and has worked with such legends as Adam Green and Tom Holland.
During the Q & A session, the talented actress got the chance to speak about her other passion, directing. In 2008, along with her Halloween co-star, Ellie Cornell and A Nightmare on Elm Street’s Heather Langenkamp, she directed a segment in the horror anthology film, Prank. Her particular story, “Madison” focused on a college girl who is being stalked.
Four years later, Danielle found herself in the director’s chair again helming Among Friends, the story of a murder mystery dinner party that turns dark and confessional. At Hunt Valley, Harris revealed that she is looking to get behind the camera once more.
She will be working with iconic filmmaker, Joe Dante who produced her 2018 effort, Camp Cold Brook. Her relationship with the director started in the early 90’s when she appeared on the TV series, Eerie, Indiana.
Harris admits that these days she is “Much more interested in what is going on behind the camera than in front of the camera.” With Dante’s help, she is searching for a project that captures her interest.
As luck would have it, Danielle stated that the director had found something for her and the two had a meeting to discuss the potential venture. “It is exactly what I have been looking for.” She hopes to find herself in the director’s chair at the beginning of 2020.
