Jason Marsden on Rene Auberjonois

Wow. A real one-two punch today. First Caroll Spinney, then the amazing Rene Auberjonois. I’ve had the pleasure of working with him a few times. On #EerieIndiana, #DeepSpaceNine and a short-lived cartoon series. My fave memory was when we were working on Eerie, standing next to each other as the crew was lining up a shot. For some reason I was absent-mindedly singing “Les Poissons” from Disney’s The Little Mermaid (even at 17, I was a Dis musical nut). Renee asked me...”WHY are you singing that?!” I responded, annoyed, “It’s from the Little Mermaid.” Like, how did he not know of this movie?! But he did, “Yes, I know. That was me who sang that song!” I couldn’t believe it! We both laughed and he sang the rest of the song with me! It was a true highlight of my young career. Such a blessing I got to share space with him. Rest well, Renee.
