2. I love Steve's entire world view being shattered. Also I think in this ep it's pretty clear that Simon isn't entirely sold on the weirdness either but he likes hanging out with Mars. Do you think this is the mission that convinced Simon?

1: Man, it has clearly been way too long since I watched Young Frankenstein because I don't remember that at all - what's the reference?

2: I think it I was Simon, this episode wouldn't really convince me, as he seems to spend the whole time adjusting Steve's tinfoil hat while Mars hogs the walkman and therefore Simon never gets to hear any of the canine conspiracy

3: YES SERIOUSLY WHY IS THE SORCERERS BIBLE NEVER AVAILABLE AT THE LIBRARY?!

4: I will take Mars using acplastic bat over the Tobey Maguire episode and Scariest Home Movies where he apparently thinks garlic is a cureall against every type of supernatural threat.

5: I personally think there is a feline paw or two deep in Eddie's power structure and they're taking the dogs out, including actual and beloved pets. There's no need to put the chamber in view of the cages unless you're doing it to be cruel,which says cats to me.

6: well, z nation heavily implied he grew up to be a scientist who survived the zombie apocalypse and is now a key part of the plan to rebuild humanity, so...

7: I think the giants sweatshirt is like the toy or comfort blanket you have as a kid - Marilyn nicks it while he's asleep of in the bath and launders it

Ahhh I see, I thought that was more of a generic mad scientist thing. Clearly i need more mel brooks this halloween.

2: poor simon. He would literally play with a human antenna just so he can spend time with Marshall.that is tragic.

4: as the Eerie library never has the sorcerers bible on the shelf, does it have the bitesize/nutshells study guides?

5: that's the discworld book where death gets an apprentice? I have read it but yeeeeears ago like in primary school. Were there cats? I remember mort ragging deaths daughter who wore a hat. That's legit what sticks out.

6: Man i love z nation. It's so dumb and yet on occasion it has such heart. I Haven t seen all of s4 yet so don't judge me if off sucks.

5. HILARIOUSLY ENOUGH I forgot about that book. NO. Mort(e) is about a war between animals and humans after ants figure out a hormone that can evolve animals to bipedal and give them the ability to talk.

7: I'm sure I remember a post on the old on comm about how not Indiana the weather in Eerie is, like Mars is either underdressed for winter or should be roasting in summer. I think Eerie itself is giving itself Halloween tree/something wicked this way comes day Bradbury fall weather ALL YEAR ROUND

Yeah, I have given up all hope when it comes to making sense of how time and seasons work in Eerie and just kind of handwave the "when" of all canon events in fic now

Every now and then I'll try to plot the dates/time of the episodes but it never comes off. Meh. Eerie time.

I kind of go back and forth between looking up the actual weather in Indiana on an exact date and just lampshade hanging all over the place because time in Eerie is weird and errors are everywhere.

And then just making story decisions that might be supported by most of the canon details, but inevitably contradict some of them.

Time is canonically weird in Eerie, as is weather. There's a LOT of leeway in terms of what can be handwaved by saying "wally" "milkmen" or "creepy garbage guys".

3: I 100% believe in the existence of multiple super petty territorial cults in Eerie engaged in a passive aggressive library war.

6: HAH. I'm glad we were talking about different books because I was vastly confused by how much of the plot i had definitely forgotten. And no, iv e not read mrt(e) but now I kinda want to.

7: I... honestly don't remember. I am reasonably sure he's in a tee on the milk carton, but maybe the night before when Edgar send them to bed?

Z Nation is one of my very favorites ever, though I was not expecting it to break my heart as much as it has.

I was really not expecting to realize I ship who I ship after the end of last season.

10K/Murphy? Please don't make me be the only one...

Warren/Murphy (though I can definitely get behind 10K/Murphy, too, especially after last season!)

Part of me is still going, "Seriously, self?! Warren deserves so much better, and Addy is right there (though I still kinda ship her with the woman from Corporate Retreat still and can only hope they meet up again in a future episode which would also have Iggy)..."

Warren does deserve so much better, but also Hector is dead so now she may never love again. ;_;

(Hahah i just remembered when Addy had that super pointless boyfriend that had like, no personality and no purpose except being Addys boyfriend.)

Gosh i hope we see right again.

And dying. That was a very important thing for him to do in this story.

Alas, when I look for Z Nation fic, the only pairing with an even somewhat substantial amount of fic seems to be 10K/reader. Which is...not a genre I get.

Even then it was mostly an excuse to give Addy the sads and free her up to make eyes at Corporate Retreat Lady.

Oh my god the 10K dating self inserts whaaaaat. I read the summaries and I get second hand embarrassment sweats.

Yeah. I'm probably offering Z Nation for Yuletide and I'm thinking about offering every character except 10K, just to avoid that kind of request. I mean, I can write pairings that I don't personally ship, that one's waaay outside my comfort zone.

That's a good way of avoiding it, just take the option out before you're out in the position of saying "no i will not write a porny choose your own adventure fic". Like, I don't wanna seem judgey... But I'm judgey.

I should not judge, given that my prompts for Yuletide so far involve:
-the ship where half of the pairing is of indeterminate species
-the ship where half of the pairing is the zombie messiah
-the ship where everybody in the OT3 is dead (before they meet)
-the ship where half of the pairing is Randall Flagg

But I'll probably leave 10k to somebody who can do a potential /reader prompt justice. Too bad; I like the kid.

Okay, now I'm really curious about the all-dead ot3, because I thought about it and can't think who it is.

And also is randall Flagg walter/the man in black from the Dark Tower film? Because I approve of that ship without having ever read a single book in the series.

Just saw the Z Nation premiere and did a rambling, real-time reaction post on DW because I could not with Twitter today.

I havent, but it sounds amazing! Also why do I constantly miss stuff Kristen bell does that I would love but never hear about til later? I only just discovered Veronica Mars.

I love how much ham matthew mcconaughey ate in that film. Like he was full panto villian, he may as well have had fights and curly mustachioes and I love it.
