deifire and I were talking Eerie Role play and I've been getting really into RPing on Tumblr of late. So I made an OC RP blog and well. His name is Bram, he's a librarian, and he's a dork....

That's just confusing RP has always been Received Pronunciation; it's taken me long enough to process what LARP meant...

I'm still waiting to ne able to say Cosplay instead of Fancy Dress, which is what everyone called it when I used to go to cons. Once entered a contest almost at the last minute; borrowed a friend's long leather coat (this was back even before the Buffy movie) and presented a telephone bill to Nicholas Courtney; who was a guest, for the call the Brigadier made to recall Tom Baker's Doctor to Earth. Don't think I could ever take it seriously enough to call it cosplay, but never say never.

i don't really know that you need to "take it seriously" to call it cosplay, it's just a contraction of costume and play...so it means the same thing as fancy dress.

I figured that bit out all by myself :-) From the perspective of my early fandom days it feels and looks like too seriously to me that's all. From that time to today seems a bit like when we only had three TV channels to now when there are thousands; yet seeming like there's less and less to watch (not helped by not having had an actual TV for nearly sixteen years). Just decided to start re-watching Northern Exposure again for the first time in an age; feels like a programme from another age; especially compared to The 100; of which I just watched the second season (for a character that, as it turns out is only on the show for less than half a season), still incredibly compelling though. Mentioning it because a special feature is a panel from San Diego Comic-Con, the panels and the events themselves feel almost like an alien world to me. Maybe it's just me getting old :-)

I hear ya, every time I try to do something on there it either doesn't work or takes me four of five to rounds to figure it out. By the time I get it done, it's kinda sucked the fun out for me.

it took me three years to figure out wtf the queue was and how to use it...

i do the bare minimum. I've even stopped scrolling through my dash to where i left off bcuz it's too much effort. i don't track tags. i figure anything important i was tagged in, lol.

I have pretty much relegated it to looking up the mashups between texts from last night and my various fandoms, laughjng, pressing The little heart, and then shutting it down. Messaging you on that eerie ticket took longer than I want to admit to work out how to do.

Fair. Tumblr is. it's kind of a mess.

I just use tumblr as a kind of therapy; sometimes I'll spend ages scrolling through finding stories; pictures, and posting stuff that interests me. Other times I'll just pick a page; find something; share it, pick another page, rinse and repeat :-)

There are a lot of people using it for fandoms, but it's not possible to use it the way you can say like this one; just not set up that way, but people seem to be trying to do it though.

I like it though, but I don't try and engage too much because it's impossible to carry on proper discussions. I have had the good fortune to discover of lot of stuff I wouldn;t otherwise, which is enough to be grateful for.
