eerieindianaTem um amigo com quem sempre assisto Netflix Party, e somos viciados em ver filme de terror, no entanto estamos de acordo que quase tudo que vemos é horrível. Infelizmente o gênero horror é uma desgraça sem criatividade. Parece que quase tudo é uma cópia idêntica de certos modelos prontos. Mas felizmente em nossas buscas, vez ou outra achamos algo interessante, e foi o caso de "A Frequência Kirlian".
A história se passa na cidade de Kirlian, um lugar estranho no meio do nada onde todo mundo tem um parente ou conhece alguém que mora lá. No entanto, estranhamente o lugar não está listado em mapa algum e ninguém realmente sabe como se vai pra lá. Todas as noites a rádio da cidade começa a apresentar um programa noturno que só termina ao amanhecer, e nele são citados os casos bizarros que acontecem.
Tá aí uma verdadeira pérola fantástica, com episódios que te surpreendem. Ainda mais pelo fato de que são tão curtinhos, em menos de dez minutos conseguem fazer surpresas e criar uma atmosfera que estão anos luz de certos filmes de terror que tem todo um orçamento grande com viagens, figurino, maquiagem e um monte de coisas.
Mas vamos começar pelo ruim né? Essa é uma obra argentina que infelizmente é muito desvalorizada. Seu piloto foi lançado em 2009, e você nota que não é algo de grande orçamento, tanto na animação que é em motion comic, quanto no tempo de duração, na quantidade minúscula de episódios (Sã apenas 5). Acabou se tornando uma websérie, porém sem muita visibilidade e apoio.
O resultado é algo que parece uma obra muito bem feita, porém desenvolvida para um canal do youtube, e não uma animação de grande orçamento. Por outro lado, é o tipo de coisa que é fácil notar que veio da mente de pessoas talentosas e que consegue provar que a criatividade consegue ir além de qualquer orçamento. Se a pessoa tem boas ideias, ela consegue encantar sem mega efeitos especiais.
Os episódios variam entre o radialista em sua estação e os acontecimentos fora da cidade. Focam em pessoas que de alguma forma entraram em contato, seja indo até lá para entrevista ou em uma ligação para participar do programa. E à medida em que o radialista vai conversando com a pessoa, as cenas vão variando entre a narração de coisas que ocorreram ou estão acontecendo e o que está rolando dentro da estação.
Eu diria que é uma mistura de Pontypool com Eerie Indiana, apresentando o elemento de uma estação de rádio isolada do mundo exterior, e as esquisitices de uma cidade que só aqueles que param para prestar atenção conseguem ver. E cada episódio te deixa já se preparando para que tipo de insanidade irá aparecer.
Um dos pontos mais altos sem dúvidas é a narração. É maravilhoso como os personagens falam continuamente sobre o que aconteceu ou está acontecendo e como dá uma variada. A forma tão humana e com elementos normais do dia a dia deixa tudo tão natural. É como se alguém estivesse te contando uma história muito interessante.
Também tem os elementos de rádio que são usados, incluindo patrocínio e "Essa música é dedicada a...", que acaba sendo uma ótima desculpa para por trilha sonora e ao mesmo tempo apresentar algum momento que combina demais. A animação por mais que seja motion comic, os caras usaram isso a favor deles, mantendo uma estética que tudo tem a ver com um conto.
Enfim, "A Frequência Kirlian" não é a primeira animação antológica com contos estranhos, já tivemos por exemplo o japonês Yami Shibai, no entanto sem dúvidas consegue se destacar com sua forma grandiosa que teve a capacidade de se compactar em episódios pequenos. São menos de 10 minutos, mas são episódios robustos que não param em momento algum e apresentam uma grande quantidade de conteúdo. Recomendo assistir à noite com um amigo.

Unfortunately the horror genre is a disgrace without creativity. It seems that almost everything is an identical copy of certain ready-made models. But fortunately in our searches, time and again we found something interesting, and it was the case of "The Kirlian Frequency".
The story takes place in the town of Kirlian, a strange place in the middle of nowhere where everyone has a relative or knows someone who lives there. Strangely, however, the place is not listed on any map and no one really knows how to go there. Every night the city radio begins to present a night program that only ends at dawn, and it is mentioned in the bizarre cases that happen.
This is a fantastic pearl, with episodes that surprise you. Even more so by the fact that they are so short, in less than ten minutes they can make surprises and create an atmosphere that are light years of certain horror movies that has a big budget with travel, costumes, makeup and a lot of things.
But let's start with the bad, right? This is an Argentine work that unfortunately is very devalued. Its pilot was released in 2009, and you notice that it's not a big budget, both in animation that is in motion comic, and in time duration, in the tiny amount of episodes (only 5). It ended up becoming a web series, but without much visibility and support.
The result is something that looks like a very well done work, but developed for a youtube channel, not a big budget animation. On the other hand, it is the kind of thing that is easy to notice that came from the minds of talented people and that can prove that creativity can go beyond any budget. If the person has good ideas, she can charm without mega special effects.
The episodes vary between the radio broadcaster in his station and the happenings outside the city. Focus on people who somehow came in contact, whether going there for an interview or a call to join the program. And as the radio broadcaster goes on talking to the person, the scenes will vary between the narration of things that have happened or are happening and what is going on inside the station.
I'd say it's a mix of Pontypool with Eerie Indiana, featuring the element of a radio station isolated from the outside world, and the oddities of a city that only those who stop to pay attention can see. And each episode leaves you already preparing for what kind of insanity will appear.
One of the highest points is without doubt the narration. It's wonderful how the characters continually talk about what happened or is happening and how it gives a variety. The form so human and with normal elements of the day to day leaves everything so natural. It's as if someone is telling you a very interesting story.
It also has the radio elements that are used, including sponsorship and "This song is dedicated to ...", which ends up being a great excuse for soundtrack and at the same time presenting some moment that combines too much. The animation however motion comic, the guys have used it in their favor, maintaining an aesthetic that has everything to do with a story.
Finally, "The Kirlian Frequency" is not the first anthological animation with strange tales, we had for example the Japanese Yami Shibai, nevertheless without a doubt manages to stand out with its great form that had the capacity to compact itself in small episodes. They are less than 10 minutes, but they are robust episodes that do not stop at any moment and present a great amount of content. I recommend watching the evening with a friend.
