Mikeytwo66: I remember Eerie Indiana, I rented it out recently. It's okay but don't compare it with Stranger Things because ST leaves it and nearly every other fastasy show in the dust.

18 Kids’ Shows from the 90s your Family will Still Love

The 90s were a crazy time, filled with floppy disks, lots of neon, very large TVs, gel pens and a bunch of other items that didn’t stand the test of time. One product of the 90s that does hold up is the TV shows. From The Magic School Bus to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, these series are just as entertaining and educational as they were 20 years ago. Not all kids will be able to look past the fashion or standard definition graphics, but there’s still a lot to love in these 18 kids’ shows from the 90s.

Eerie, Indiana: Because the subject matter changes with each episode and your kids’ sensitivity to one topic might be a bigger concern than to another, you might want to preview them before sharing them with your younger kids. For older kids, though, Eerie, Indiana is a fun, off-the-beaten-path throwback that’s so entertaining you’ll want to take in with them.

Here’s another example of Eerie, Indiana acknowledging its roots. One of the characters in tonight’s episode is a space traveller who’s been disguised as an ordinary American since he showed up on our planet in Siberia in 1908. Who better to cast than My Favorite Martian star Ray Walston?

The Loyal Order of Corn is Eerie’s fraternal lodge, their version of the Knights of Columbus, Water Buffalo, or Stonecutters. I gave our son a quick introduction about these fellows (including Harry Goaz in his last fleeting appearance as the town cop) having fun and enjoying secret handshakes and making Steve Guttenberg a star before getting started. The episode gives Jason Marsden’s character a name, Dash-X, which he likes better than Plus-Minus, as those are the symbols on his hands. Unfortunately, the revamped title sequence that they introduced with episode 15 gives away Ray Walston’s character having the same symbols on his own hands, but happily he doesn’t reveal their meaning to Dash-X before departing.
