Reddit on Eerie Indiana

What tv show that was canceled in the 1st season or after the 1st season are you still salty about?

For me recently I was bummed about Away getting canceled on Netflix, but the show I'm still pissed about was from the mid 2000's called Love Monkey. I'm not sure if the title did the show in but I thought Tom Cavanagh was great in it and the ensemble cast was really good.

Maybe this will garner enough excitement to give this show another chance. Personally I really enjoyed the first season—it had all the fun trimmings of a campy, pulpy, episodic sci-fi show. A pinch of Indiana Jones, x-files, national treasure, Eerie Indiana and a dash of social commentary.

My pupper dug up a hen's egg (with red lion stamp)! It was buried on a grass roundabout, in the courtyard we share with 3 other houses. Stranger still, the two of the neighbours told me they had also found eggs buried in flower pots and beds around the courtyard. Who/what buries eggs?

One theory is that it is a fox, but where is he getting store bought eggs?? I asked the guy next door if he was trying to grow chickens but he denies it.

I just don't understand what is going on. What's the point in burying eggs???

This is like a Round The Twist storyline. There's got to be some magical and creepy reason.

I loved that show as a kid. Along with Eerie Indiana.

What's a TV show that only you remember existing no matter how many people you tell about?

diiejso: I can remember watching a show when I was younger that I've never been able to figure out what it was. The details are hazy but I believe the premise was a girl and father moved from a city to run a gas station in some very small town and she would investigate weird happenings. Like Eerie Indiana somewhat but with a girl lead. I think she had red hair. Every once in awhile I'll think about it and for a few days it bothers me that I can't remember the name.

Eerie, Indiana, was a TV show that aired in the early (1990)s. It was called Twin Peaks for kids and featured two young kids finding all sorts of odd happenings and people in their hometown, including Elvis.

I don't remember a lot about this. I saw it on TV in the late 90s/early 2000s. I remember there were two boys and one of them had those huge braces outside his mouth and round his jaw. At the end I remember these talking dogs all crowding round him shouting 'metal mouth!' over and over, then in the next scene the other boy was outside and a dog ran up and set his friends braces on the ground and ran off.

It sounds really silly and I might be misremembering it.

Eerie Indiana and the Secret of Sulphur Springs

I am obviously way out of the demographic age, but as a long fan of similar shows (Eerie Indiana and So Weird notably, and also newer things like Stranger Things), I had to at least give Secrets of Sulphur Springs a shot.

The plot begins simply enough: Griffin, a middle school aged kid is upset when his father uproots the family from Chicago and moves them to Sulphur Springs, Louisiana, where he plans to renovate and reopen an abandoned hotel. A hotel that the locals insist is cursed. Harper, a girl Griffin befriends at school tells him the rest of the story- 30 years ago a girl named Savannah Dillon went missing from a summer camp near the hotel and ever since then there have been sightings of her ghost.

The first episode comes to an end with Griffin and Harper exploring the hotel. They find a basement with a creepy hallway that leads to a fallout shelter. On the other end, is a hatch that the two climb through- and emerge in 1990, where they encounter not just Savannah, the missing girl before she disappeared, but also Griffin's father and Harper's mother, both campers at the same camp Savannah was. And neither of whom ever mentioned that they even knew her.

The plot's not exactly new ground, but it is well done. It's been a long time since a Disney Channel show has aired that's not a comedy, and I don't think I've ever seen a live action series on the network that was properly serialized, where stories weren't self-contained to each episode and each one led into the next. The acting's not going to win any awards, but the kids are a cut above your average Goosebumps episode. The adults do have a bit of a case of "Adults are Useless" and refusing the share relevant information in regards to the plot, but they get some scenes to themselves. And the lush scenery of Louisiana where it was filmed lends a lovely atmosphere (even if it is rather strange that NO ONE in the cast has any accent at all).

(And not to go into spoilers, but after 9 episode of the first season- the vibe I'm most getting from the overall plot is more Dark than Stranger Things)

Of all the kids horror efforts on TV in the 90s (and there were a lot of good ones), "Eerie Indiana" really does stand all out on its own. It was the kid's "Twin Peaks"; creatively unique and all too briefly there for us to enjoy.

Weirdness and Indiana

"Stranger Things", "Eerie, Indiana", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", and really odd comedies like "The Middle", "Kimmie Schmidt" (the premise of the show, season one), and "Parks & Rec". Oh, and the holiday favorite "A Christmas Story".

It's like Indiana is becoming the weird state of the Midwest. I like it!

Eerie Indiana and the Sims

I have always loved the weird stuff. That slightly to the side strange things that goes on in the background. I love urban myths, legends, storytelling and folklore.

My favorite show as a child was Eerie, Indiana, I watched the sh*t out of X Files when my mom finally let me and Goosebumps or Are You Afraid Of The Dark? You had to pry me away from that!

And so, when I started playing Sims 2 I was naturally drawn to Strangetown, and I love it to this day.

I still play on my high school savefile which is now 13 years old. THIRTEEN YEARS! It has survived 3 pc transfers, a crapton of cc, modding, tweaking, scriptmodding and so on, it is my baby and I treasure it!

In addition to my sims who live in Strangetown, I also love the basegame residents, their lives, their secrets and their overall exsistence.

The fact that I can just come into the sims lives and see the drama unfold is so much fun, there are pre scripted event happening right from the beginning!

Johnny ages up, Pascal is having a baby, the Beakers are up to no good and Olive Specter is... sus!

This brings me to Strangerville and The Sims 4..

Now aesthetically, Strangerville is nice, but when you’re done with the mother-plant, then what? You build some houses, move in a family and call it a day?

I wish there was more!

I wish they made more of these adventures, like a new mystery every three months or something, I crave it!

I want to love Strangerville as much as I love Strangetown, but that’s on EA!
