Eerie, Indiana fanfiction: Temper, Temper

Written for day 12 of the 31_days challenge. The prompt was: "Temper, temper."



"You're over-reacting," said Mister Radford. "Nothing's going on here but a little harmless capitalism."

"That's what you said last time!" Marshall shouted.

"That was a radically different context," said Mister Radford. "Nobody's going to get sent to Hell just because you disapprove of their taste in literature."

Marshall glared at the stacks of Twilight books filling the aisles of the World o' Stuff.

"This isn't literature," he said with a scowl. "This is... at best, as the absolute best-case scenario, this is pro-vampire propaganda designed to lull the citizens of Eerie into a false sense of security so that when the real vampires show up to feed, they're welcomed with outstretched arms and bared carotid arteries. At worst, this is a hate-crime carried out against the written word."

"Well, if the vampires show up, you can say 'I told you so'," said Mister Radford, setting up a display of Edward Cullen bookmarks.

Marshall shook his head in disgust and stomped out of the store.
