Hocus Pocus Binx commentary

So last night Jason did a screening of Hocus Pocus in Nashville and did a live commentary over the top of it. He very kindly recorded himself doing this on Periscope and transmitted it live. If you download the Periscope ap you can currently still watch the recording, I don't know how long it will be uploaded for.

So I'm now going to watch Hocus Pocus and play Jason's commentary with it ^_^

He gets distracted watching the film quite a bit, but there's one or two nice bits of information, including why he ended up voicing Binx, the fact that he became friends with Omri when they were recording Eerie because he caught Omri smoking somewhere he shouldn't on set, and that he was 17 when they filmed Eerie, which makes me feel mildly less like a nasty creeper. Mildly.

That was awesome! I'm having fun picturing Jason randomly wandering around various movie and TV sets now.

The actor that plays human Thackery was also voicing Binx, but as the film developed they decided that the actor's voice was too modern sounding. Meanwhile, Jason had auditioned for both the main role and one of the bit parts and they decided that he had the right sound so they got him in to rerecord the voices.

Unfortunately, a lot of Binx had already been animated to the original actor's VA, so Jason had to say the lines to match it. He said that some of the lines he would have delivered differently if he'd had the choice.

I love him as tino in the weekenders and I reckon binx would be a lot more sarcastic if jason had been voicing him from the start

IKR?!? On both counts even! Apparently Omri also saved up his money from the acting he did and went off to spend a year snowboarding or something.

I don't think he and Jason have stayed in touch though.
