It's not as interesting as you probably hoped, but this really is what I had in mind for the Curl-Toed Binsnarfer
Item: The Curl-Toed Binsnarfer.
My trusted associate, Simon and I found the curl-toed binsnarfer with time to spare. One and two thirds hour to spare to be exact.
I’m rarely upset when encountering the weird and wild of Eerie doesn’t involve running for our lives, but Simon and I almost found death by boredom tonight. A curl-toed binsnarfer is a hedgehog. Okay so it’s a hedgehog with really long toes that stand seven feet tall on its hind legs, wears an apron and carries a large photo-album of its many grandchildren. Which it will share with you. Whether you want it to or not.
The cookies it brought with it were really good though.
Apparently this particular binsnarfer inadvertently tapped into an interdimensional axis and turns up every two hundred years.
It was a major let down.
Even more of a letdown, if still a bit weird though, was when we returned we found Simon’s little brother asleep on the sofa and Dash with his feet up watching a movie and singing a song about hedgehogs(!) that I’m not so certain should be sung in front of kids Simon and his brother's age. Fortunately it went completely over my most trusted associate’s head. Although Simon did ask about the bit about the giraffe and the ladder.
“Dose of NyQuil in his grape soda, Teller,” Dash grinned at me, as I escorted him out, “Works everytime.”

Date: 2015-08-24 10:34 am (UTC)I don't think anyone actually knows the full hedgehog song - it's the one Nanny Ogg sings in the Discworld books. About an animal what can never be persuaded to care about anything.
