Why not take the opportunity to tell us what the "biggest sale of the year" looks like in Eerie? Does the Eerie Mall descend into bloodshed and chaos? Are the doors to the World o' Stuff firmly closed and locked until after the holiday weekend, Radford staying well away from the whole thing after his experience with The Donald? Are monstrous animated scarecrows half-off at Everything Corn, and does Grandma's Kitchen stay open late to feed the hoards of hungry bargain hunters? What thoughts do the Eerie Chamber of Commerce have on the matter, and does the Eerie-Yoshizaki Consortium have an opinion?

So, following this comment thread, I was wondering... what cocktails do you think they serve in Eerie? What's on the specials board at the Loyal Order of Corn? What's the Mayor throwing back after a hard day, or raising a glass of in celebration when he successfully feeds a teenage boy to a slavering wolfman? And in the alternate reality where Eerie was a juggernaut fandom with it's very own annual convention and a hotel bar decked out in yellows and greens and giant inter-dimensional TV sets, what's on the menu for thirsty fans looking for a pleasantly alcoholic beverage?

On Nov. 24, 1988, television viewers of a certain cultish stripe will celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first transmission from Joel Robinson, Crow T. Robot and Tom Servo from the Satellite of Love. Yes, "Mystery Science Theater 3000" is now old enough to experience early midlife angst! That it has endured as long as it has (with a second season of the Jonah Ray-led reboot on the way) is a testament to the devotion of the viewers who kept "circulating the tapes." In a ratings-driven world, every off-center television show needs a cult following to keep it alive. "MST3K" is one of the lucky ones. Other TV oddities haven't been so fortunate. In honor of Joel and his robot friends, let's celebrate the greatest, weirdest series to ever pervert the airwaves.

Before “Stranger Things," there was “Eerie, Indiana” — and it was so much better. The preciousness that persistently derails the Netflix favorite is delightfully absent from this of-the-Amblin-era kids show created by José Rivera and Karl Schaefer and creatively shepherded by “Gremlins” director Joe Dante. The show centers on the exploits of a teenage boy who comes to learn that the small town into which his family has moved is rife with all manners of supernatural strangeness.

The holidays are fast approaching, but this year people aren’t just excited to celebrate Thanksgiving, Hannukkah, Kwanza, Christmas, and the New Year. This year, though, a considerable number of people online are particularly looking forward to celebrating Wolfenoot.

Wolfenoot is a brand-new holiday created by a 7-year old boy in New Zealand. According to his mother, author Jax Goss, Wolfenoot is “when the Spirit of the Wolf brings and hides small gifts around the house for everyone.” As for where the idea for the new holiday came from, Goss says, with a laugh: “I asked him this. He said, ‘It came from my brain’. So that’s helpful.” She does add that he loves animals of all kinds and has been exposed to conservation ideas thanks to her work at New Zealand’s Hamilton Zoo.

According to her son, the holiday is celebrated by eating roast meat, because that is what wolves eat (although vegetarians can celebrate, too) and by baking a cake decorated to look like a full moon. The holiday is celebrated on November 23rd to mark “the anniversary of ‘The Great Wolf’s Death’. ”
