A sub-genre of good, smart shows about teenagers & pre-teens dies too soon because network promotion assumes all teenagers are stupid, & that no adult could find kids genuinely dramatically/comedically interesting: Eerie, Indiana; Parker Lewis Can't Lose; My So-Called Life...

Networks didn't know how to promote Eerie or Parker, and, paraphrasing actual Parker dialogue, one of the surest ways to make your life miserable is to, "get scheduled opposite 60 Minutes." In a protest scene on Parker, one sign read, "THANKS FOR NOT WATCHING EERIE, INDIANA".
