Eerie was great--on opposite Parker Lewis Can't Lose, which was the better of the two Ferris Bueller knock-offs, the inferior one being the one actually titled Ferris Bueller, and featuring an unknown Jennifer Aniston in the Jennifer Grey role.

Eerie was fantastic. I have very vague memories of Parker Lewis but I remember it starting off as a bueller knock-off but... didn’t it get very strange? Like, in a good 90’s way? It’s very possible I’m combining memories of multiple series here.

Eerie, Indiana had a weird sheriff too, but was the one about the kid moving from New Jersey to the bizarre town in the Midwest--a partly comic puberty/weirdness of suburbia allegory. The first American Gothic took place in Trinity, South Carolina--evil sheriff: Gary Cole.
