Hi!
New to the group, I just got my DVDs of the series a few days ago. I was thinking of ordering some of the books, does anyone have any recommendations? And does Dash X actually appear in any of the books? I haven’t seen any mention of him so far in blurbs.
Thanks!

Date: 2006-12-27 12:38 pm (UTC)So far I've read Fountain of Weird which is terrible! Luckily this was the second book I read - has this been the first, I wouldn't have bothered with any others. The story makes no sense, and has no Eerie humour.
The other one I read is Attack of the Two-Ton Tomatoes, which is far better! Mike Ford seems to get the Eerie humour and it has lots of little details that make it feel more like an episode and made me laugh out loud. (some copies of Fountain of Weird were printed wrong and say they're by Mike Ford on the cover, but they're by someone called Sherry Shahan.) So I'd recommend Attack of the Two-ton Tomatoes this one to begin with. It's still written quite basically - they are childrens books - but it's enjoyable and fun. I have another one by the same author and I hope his others are up to the same standard!
