Guys, look what just arrived!





I feel a bit bad about opening it, since it's been kept mint in packet since 1997, but I am dying to see the artwork in this thing!

OH GOSH THIS IS DELIGHTFUL! I never knew this existed.

And seriously don't feel bad. Whenever I rip open sealed cassette tapes from the 90s, I am always like, it doesn't matter, *I'm* from the 90s too.

Aren't they great? I found out about them from a random Instagram post from someone who picked up the ForeverWare one in a charity shop. Never heard of them before that and it was another year before I managed to track down one of my own but they're so much fun!

Yeah, it was a bit of a ForeverWare-lady type emotion, my bubble seal, nnnyggghh! I did take it back up with masking tape when I was done, but I took the tape out and popped it in a proper hard cassette tape box.

I'm glad it was worth it too. There is something immensely satisfying about engaging with media from the last decade or so as was intended.

why does Marshall look like off brand Keanu?

I do think it's improved since the Foreverware one? Keanu, even a slightly off-model version, is an upgrade on Gary Shandling.

a shot in the dark here but I would imagine that they didn't have the right to Omri Katz/Justin Shenkarow/x y z actor's likeness so they just had to Make Do lol.

im sorry im kind of obsessed with this, but i would be remiss to not point out that the first illustration in both books is the same

I wonder if it was intended to be the book/tape equivalent of the opening credits and if there had been another seventeen books after this, they would have all started with the same first page?
