Just cus.
New Student
Shadows adorned Mrs. Pringle's sallow cheeks and her retro brown dress gave off a mothball smell as she walked from amongst the students to the front of the room.
"Class, I'd like to introduce you all to a new student here at B.F. Skinner Junior High. He's not from around here, he's a bit...different, so I want you all to make him feel right at home here in Eerie."
Mrs. Pringle gave an energetic few raps on the desk and the new student walked in, whose face couldn't seem to make up its mind between looking cocky and an expression of total embarrassment.
It was Dash.
Marshall shot him a glance. He liked Dash - a lot - but this was bordering on obsessive stalker behaviour.
Dash took a seat behind Jennifer (who was now permanently seated next to Mars) and stretched his legs out in front of him. The other students gawked snobbishly at his hair and clothes, mocking him with raised eyebrows and dismissive snorts.
Marshall wouldn't look behind him, his face burnt red with shock.
Lab Rat
Dash folded his arms.
Marshall was standing over him, a clipboard in his hand.
"It's not natural" Simon whispered in the corner.
"Alright already, just give it a rest, Shrimpenstein." Dash's words were half-hearted, like he was running out of fuel to keep his defences up.
Marshall shook the clipboard in front of his face.
"Calling it quits in chemistry lab because you can't muster any more than an F-, I guess I could understand, but never have I heard of someone dropping out for fear they'd get caught being top of the class."
"Yeah. Top of the whole state, too. And he's only been here a week.'
Simon thought a minute.
'Say, d'you think you could help me with my homework sometime? There's a pack of coco puffs in it for you, if you do."

Date: 2013-02-24 03:07 am (UTC)Dash does have a point, being too good is dangerous for someone like him.
(I apologize if there are two comments, but something is going odd with my comments tonight)
