My pitch for if they ever rebooted Eerie, Indiana... ummm... Again.

In Eerie, Indiana: The Other Dimension all the weird went to that universe. So I would connect these two shows. I'd have it set in the original Eerie universe in modern times where Eerie has been just a normal place since that event took place. So Marshall and Simon would be adults with jobs and family. Marshall would work for the same product testing company Things Incorporated like his father did. Simon would work at the World O' Stuff. They both would believe they just had really active imaginations when they were kids. Both of their kids would meet when the weird returns to Eerie. Eventually they'd discover the stuff in the attic and continue Marshall and Simon's work investigating the weird. From there it would be the ongoing story of finding out why and how the weird came back whilst each episode the deal with another weird occurrence. Eventually you'd have appearances from Mitchell and Stanley and possibly other cast members.

The jackalope was huge, at least six feet from hoof to shoulders. It's antlers brushed the ceiling, leaving grubby streaks that Marshall would have to clean before his parents spotted them and started asking questions.

Before that, he had one fairly pressing question of his own.

"Why is it so big?" he asked. "Jackalopes don't normally get to... well, to much bigger than hares, usually."

Stanley Hope, who claimed to be the analogue of Simon from the universe where everyone was Canadian, shrugged apologetically.

"It's not a jackalope," he said. "It's a Mooserabbit."

"Ah," said Marshall. "The Canada thing. Again."

if you'll all humor me for a hot minute

i think that the fundamental flaw of The Other Dimension is a misunderstanding of the character of Marshall Teller

it was a mistake, I think, to make Mitchell an Eerie Native because it takes away one of the most compelling aspects of Marshall's character, and the one that I find deeply relatable and that's that he is always the outsider

Marshall has to be an outsider looking in to get even an inkling of the angle that Eerie is normal, he's just a kid with an active imagination

his only friend seems to be a kid who doesn't care like Devon, or a kid much younger than he is and at an age where he probably would just blindly believe a cool older kid like Simon

obv as the show goes on it's pretty clear that Marshall is right and Eerie is fricken weird

Mitchell is still an outsider, in a lot of scenes. Specifically in the joke episode Stanley refers to him as Mitch 'Spooky Stuff' Taylor implying that he has a reputation like Marshall's but most of the time we dont see it

even in the first episode, he says that 'downtown glows sometimes, it's nbd' when Marshall would already b downtown taking pics of the glow

mitch finds a frog in his fridge and is like 'huh weird'

and his ceral starts moving and he's like 'odd'

we dont really ever get an explanation as to why Mitch has no friends his own age. for marshall, it makes sense but mitchell...not really

TOD loses the unreliable narrator angle, and i think that's for the worse

and im saying this as someone who would lay down her life for mitchell taylor

Gifs from The Newsroom.

The premise this episode stands out to me as something we might have seen in regular Eerie, heh.
